Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) June 29, 2012
On Saturday June 30th, 7th Street Surf Shop and United By Blue will host a beach cleanup at Corson’s Inlet State Park in Ocean City, NJ. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., 7th Street Surf Shop employees and their families, United By Blue team members, and community volunteers will be spending their Saturday morning protecting our oceans.
Volunteers should park along the street and meet at the park entrance located at the corner of 59th street and Central Avenue. To thank the volunteers, the 7th street Surf Shop and United By Blue will be providing breakfast as well as opportunities to win t-shirts during exciting cleanup competitions.
United By Blue works to remove a pound of trash from ocean and waterways for every product sold. Since its creation in 2010, United By Blue has removed over 130,000 pounds of trash from ocean and waterways in 17 states during over 80 cleanups.
"7th Street Surf Shop has carried United By Blue since the beginning. It's our second season selling apparel and hosting cleanups together, and it's relationships like these that really enable us to scale both our business and our environmental impact,” said United By Blue’s founder and Chief Trash Collector, Brian Linton.
7th Street Surf Shop is the ultimate surf and skate destination in the area-whether surfers are looking to get their feet wet with lessons and camps or the latest boards and apparel-it can be found at 7th Street. Since 1986, they’ve supplied beachgoers with the hottest fashions to stay cool even on a hot summer’s day. 7th Street Surf Shop has two main stores—one on the boardwalk overlooking the 7th Street surfing beach and a year round store located at 720 Asbury Avenue in Ocean City.
Volunteers can sign up for the cleanup by clicking here, emailing cleanup(at)unitedbyblue(dot)com or calling 215-642-0693 or 609-398-7070.
