On July 7th the Ohio Fallen Heroes 6th Annual Poker Run and Rally will take place at A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson the Shop at NorthStar. This will be the third year the Rally will be hosted by America’s Oldest Harley Dealer on its 18- acre campus.
The Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial was founded and established in 2005 by several local Veterans who had a vision to build a beautiful tribute to all of the men and women in uniform from Ohio that have made the ultimate sacrifice defending our Country in the Global War on Terrorism since September 11, 2001.
The Memorial is a state recognized, privately funded memorial. It is a place where visitors can honor and remember those who have given their lives to our country. The memorial features an extensively landscaped site with individual markers for each Fallen Hero, a Courtyard of Honor containing an eternal flame, service flags, and a chapel.
The annual Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial Poker Run is the largest fund raising event for the Memorial. This event was launched in 2007 and continues to grow year over. The event includes a Poker Run, which stops at several central Ohio businesses, a parade that travels by the Memorial, and a Rally.
The Rally features the band, The Jack, food vendors, a silent auction, gun raffle, and many other elements. The Ohio Fallen Heroes Rally committee has truly outdone themselves in the way of vendors this year. Participants can expect to be entertained by the Army as well as a psychic and a giant lemonade cup. The silent auction is a new addition to the Rally this year and includes items such as a signed Dierks Bentley Guitar, a basketball signed by OSU basketball player Jared Sullinger, a Trevor Crowe autographed baseball, a whirlpool, and much more sports memorabilia.
Those wishing to participate in the Ride and Rally can do so by registering at 10am at the NorthStar location located in Sunbury, Ohio. The Ohio Fallen Heroes committee has set ticket prices at $20 per bike and $10 per passenger. Tickets can be purchased online at Adfarrow.com Local band, The Jack, will take the stage at 5pm for a concert and all activities will come to an end at 8pm. All proceeds go to supporting the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial.
