Trade Minister Lord Green visited Intercede Group’s Leicestershire headquarters to open the Company’s new research and marketing facility on the 20th anniversary of the company’s founding. Providing accommodation for more than 30 additional staff, this new office will support Intercede’s corporate development and expansion plans.
Lord Green shakes hands with Intercede CEO Richard ParrisDuring his time on site, Lord Green discussed Intercede’s export success and was particularly interested in how Intercede was able to generate 88% of its sales from overseas markets, including 64% from North America. The opportunities and challenges of growing a UK software company were explored, including the importance of creating a pool of skilled staff, funding growth, government incentives for businesses and entrepreneurs and the role of UK Trade & Investment in supporting UK exporters.
Lord Green said: “The Government views the role of small and medium size enterprises as critical to spurring an export-led UK economic recovery through innovation and entrepreneurship. Intercede is an excellent example of the kind of business the UK needs to sustain growth."
