Predominance LLC will post rare tracks for free from “Stonecold”, the 1980’s Jazz/Rock fusion band from Boston. The band was started in the Boston area by Scott Steinetz and Matthew Quinn and featured fellow Berklee students Stuart Hamm on bass; Steve Wilkes on drums; Patty Unaitis vocals; Bruce Arnold E. guitar; Matt Quinn keyboards and Scott Steinetz clarinet.
“This band was a culmination of the times”, said Scott Steinetz, “We wanted to make money but the musicians really felt they had to be challenged as well. As a result we focused on the interesting stuff, so we remained challenged (but) poor”. These tracks will be posted on the Tommyknocker website under the menu “Stonecold the Band” in the free music section.
Predominance LLC will also release tracks written and produced by Scott Steinetz that include other great artists from New York and Boston in the mid 1980’s. “The Brighter Side of Blues” features Dave Weckl on drums, Richard Tee piano; Stanley Banks bass; Cornel Dupree guitar; Vickilyn Reynolds vocals. Other tracks include bassist Jimmy Earl; Jeff Levine piano/Hammond B3; Michael Clark drums; Mark Ledford vocals; Sergio Brendou bass and Ray Gomez guitar. “I was writing for a TV medical magazine that aired once week in the top ten market” said Steinetz. “The landscape in New York was flooded with amazing studio musicians who at the time were up and coming. I was lucky to be in the right place at the right time to have worked with any of them”. You can download these tracks for free by going to http://www.tommyknockerdoorbell.net
