Bright Kids NYC has released its Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test, Second Edition (NNAT®2) Preparation Guide for Second, Third, and Fourth Grade. This workbook is the first of its kind for Levels C and D of the NNAT®2, a test that provides a nonverbal measure of general ability. This comprehensive workbook is full color and boasts a total of 244-pages.
The NNAT®2 Levels C and D exams are typically administered to children applying for Second, Third, and Fourth Grade entry to Gifted and Talented programs. For those working with younger children, Bright Kids has already released their NNAT®2 Preparation Guide for Levels A and B. This book will prepare children for Kindergarten and First Grade entry admissions exams. Both sets of NNAT®2 Preparation Guides are relevant for students testing for admissions into NYC’s Gifted and Talented program. As a supplement to the Levels C and D Preparation Guide, Bright Kids NYC has already released its NNAT®2 Level C and Level D Practice Tests.
The NNAT®2 Preparation Guide for Levels C and D features a 20-question diagnostic which can be used for either of two purposes: to initially gauge your child’s strengths and weaknesses before preparing for the NNAT®2, or to assess how well your child has mastered the skills after working through the workbook. In addition to the diagnostic, this NNAT®2 workbook offers 151 Skill Builder Activities to help children practice core skills and build confidence. These activities are meticulously crafted by the Bright Kids staff to reflect the level of difficulty of the NNAT®2. As children will benefit from the use of specific test taking strategies, Bright Kids has included tips throughout the book for parents to teach to their children.
Once children graduate from practicing with the Skill Builders, they then have the opportunity to work with 180 NNAT®2 questions to familiarize them with the content and format of the actual test. These questions include exposure to Pattern Completion, Reasoning by Analogy, Serial Reasoning, and Spatial Visualization. In each section and subsection, questions increase in difficulty, but there are simpler questions inserted throughout to ensure that your child does not lose his or her confidence along the way. A student does not need to be able to read, write, or speak to answer these multiple choice questions.
Boasting over 350 practice questions, an answer key, and answer explanations, the Bright Kids NNAT®2 Preparation Guide for Levels C and D is a must-have for any parent preparing their child. Furthermore, the NNAT®2 workbook can be used in conjunction with the Bright Kids OLSAT Preparation Guide Levels A-C or Levels D-F to help prepare children for entry into the New York City Gifted and Talented Program.
