New Book Spearheads Renaissance of Muslim American Community

After more than 20 years of extensive research and interaction with communities across America, Dr. Souheil Ghannouchi attempts to stir up some reflection and discussion about the history, crisis, and future role of Muslim Americans. His new book, Muslim American Renaissance Project, aims to facilitate positive change across American society through greater civic awareness, responsibility, engagement, and cooperation.

Stemming from the author’s firm conviction that both the nation and the community are experiencing a severe crisis, this book is prompted by his grave concern for the future – as well as his unshakable resolve to significantly contribute towards the fundamental change that is needed right now within the society.

About the Author
Dr. Souheil Ghannouchi is a university professor and a prominent Muslim American thinker and community leader. He has extensive knowledge on topics related to Islam and politics. Born in Tunisia to a family with strong religious and political roots, Dr. Ghannouchi was a vigorous activist in his youth. He participated firsthand in Tunisia’s student movement.

During the past twenty years of living in the U.S., first as a graduate student, a professional, and now as a professor, Dr. Ghannouchi has served in the leadership of a number of Muslim American organizations. Dr. Ghannouchi has traveled, lectured, and written extensively and interacted heavily with communities across America in pursuit of his vision for change.
