South Hills Electric Heating Cooling, a full service HVAC and Electrical company in Pittsburgh has reached out to it’s customers through the use of social media.
When asked why social media was so appealing as a means of customer service and support, the owner Pat Cray stated, “Our customers have come to expect an extremely high level of service from us; that’s what we’re known for. We are able to provide more information in a timelier manner through the social media channels. Most of our current and future customers are on Facebook and Twitter already. Why not reach out to them in a comfortable setting?”
Approaching 10,000 Twitter followers, South Hills Electric Heating Cooling’s Twitter Page has been in existence for some time. Like most small to medium sized businesses, it has taken some time to sort out the social media jungle and how to best apply this to the HVAC business. Mr Cray said, “Pittsburgh is a very competitive place to be a home improvement contractor. We are a working class town and have a lot of competition in the electrical and heating / air conditioning segments or our business. We need to service our customers before, during, and after the job is complete. Our use of Twitter has allowed us to do this.”
Not all people use Twitter, however. South Hills Electric Heating Cooling, in its effort to service and support all prospective clients as well as the ones who already enjoy their Better Business Bureau A+ rated service, has joined Facebook. With its new Facebook page, South Hills Electric Heating Cooling has effectively brought the conversation to the information seeking public with interactivity unavailable to Pittsburgh Air Conditioning Contractors in the past through Twitter.
Mr. Cray added, “We are very excited to add Facebook to our support structure. We are growing fast and Facebook offers us a means to find skilled HVAC technicians and electricians. Facebook also provides our company a way to share special offers with our customers as they become aware of our South Hills Electric Heating Cooling Facebook page.”
We asked the owner of South Hills Electric heating Cooling what was new on the social media horizon for his company and he commented, “In addition to Twitter and Facebook we have just launched a South Hills Electric Heating Cooling Google+ channel. We hope to bring live G+ hangouts and informational sessions like Ask Your Pittsburgh Electrician and Heating and Air Conditioning Q and A to the public soon.
