Fairfax, VA (PRWEB) June 30, 2012
Fairfax hair salon, Salon Khouri, is asking everyone to "Pay it Forward" in memory of Casey Kropf, a 14 month old Centreville, VA resident who lost his battle to cancer in June of 2011.
Jennifer Elkhouri, co-owner of Salon Khouri stated, "We’ve been so inspired at Salon Khouri by the good works of others. And we noticed that when people do nice things for other people, it makes not only us feel good, and the people we help feel good, but it also (hopefully) inspires others to do the same."
Jennifer explained that when contacting the family last year to see how they could help, Casey's mother simply asked that people "perform random acts of kindness in his memory." To honor his memory, Salon Khouri created a Pay It Forward campaign on their Salon Khouri blog and Facebook page.
Casey was diagnosed with an atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor (AT/RT), a rare form of brain cancer, when he was just six months of age. Salon Khouri has been a long-time supporter of pediatric cancer awareness and fundraising efforts. In 2006, they began a yearly cut-a-thon to help raise funding for pediatric cancer research and have donated over $7,300 in five years.
