“It was always going to be tough to follow the success of Iggy Pop; however, the Swiftbrothers have quickly established themselves with tens of thousands loving them on Facebook and hundreds of thousands on YouTube"
(PRWEB UK) 2 July 2012
The Swiftbrothers, who first hit UK screens in January 2012 will return in July as the next phase of the swiftcover.com ‘Get a Life’ campaign introduces new dog characters.
As well as League of Gentlemen duo Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton, a stellar cast will be adding their voices to some new canine characters.
The new ‘Grandad’ execution features a guest cameo from Iggy Pop as Uncle Jim, a wild-eyed, senior member of the Swift clan. Meanwhile Grandad Swift - a dapper rogue despite his advancing years, is played by one of Britain’s best-loved actors. It will follow the previously seen ‘Titles’ ad screened earlier in the year, which introduced the new Swiftbrother dog characters.
Fans will be given the opportunity to guess the identities of the mystery voiceover artist when the advert becomes available exclusively to the 46k+ swiftcover.com Facebook followers from 2 July, prior to the TV launch on Sunday 8 July.
Tina Shortle, swiftcover.com’s marketing director, said: “Since launching the Swiftbrothers, there has been a huge wave of interest in the characters so we’re excited by the prospect of the latest ad. We’re very pleased to be welcoming Iggy back too, as he was a key part of the recent success of swiftcover.com's car iinsurance campaign. We’ve always aimed to convey the brand’s personality through the advertising and this next phase of ads certainly delivers that light-hearted, humorous approach that swiftcover.com is known for.”
“Along with a cast of new characters, Sid and Johnny will deliver fun and engaging ads for Facebook and TV, while delivering core messages based around the ‘Get a Life’ campaign. Launching the new ad on Facebook is in recognition of the huge success we had with launching the new campaign in January this year so we’re looking forward to seeing how the 46,000 Facebook fans embrace the new creative.”
Tim Mortimer, CEO of ad agency MWO said: “It was always going to be tough to follow the success of Iggy Pop; however, the Swiftbrothers have quickly established themselves with tens of thousands loving them on Facebook and hundreds of thousands on YouTube.
“We’re continuing to develop the characters, which includes their friends and family so we’ll see them continue to build their following on and offline in the coming months.”
The ad were created by MWO and produced by animators 12foot6.
