Ranked among the top-five Latin American countries for smartphone penetration, Colombia will have an estimated 19 million mobile web users accessing the Internet via tablets, laptops and smartphones by the year 2015, according to the GSM Association (GSMA), which represents mobile operators worldwide. In addition, digital business analysis firm comScore has cited a rapid increase in online advertising in Colombia, which jumped 56% in 2010 to reach $41 million and then increased by an additional 40% in 2011.

Prior to joining StartMeApp in 2011, Ms. Escual spent four years working with media and Internet companies Ybrant Digital Latam (formerly, Dream Ad) and Bumeran.com, responsible for business areas that included account loyalty and development of business opportunities with clients and prospective clients. Previously, she was an Account Executive with American Express, as well as a Business Executive with Spain's Banco Santander in Argentina.
