D.R. Horton has selected One of a Kind Design Inc. as the interior design firm for its model home at Chiasso, a village of 59 single-family residences amid lakes and waterways in Fiddler’s Creek.

The team at One of a Kind Design will fully furnish the model to highlight prestigious living, overseeing space planning, material specification, interior detailing and furniture acquisition.

The project will be led by Mercedes Lopez, founder and president of One of a Kind Design. An experienced interior designer, Lopez founded the full-service firm in Fort Lauderdale in 1991.

Located within the Veneta section at Fiddler’s Creek, the village of Chiasso will feature four unique floor plans, ranging from 2,583 air-conditioned square feet to 3,522 air-conditioned square feet. The fully furnished Washington model home encompasses 2,788 air-conditioned square feet. It has three bedrooms, 3.5 baths, den and two-car garage. The starting price for the Washington is $509,990.

The living area in the Washington offers a delightful blend of features for entertaining family and friends, including a gourmet kitchen with eat-in bar, spacious great room and lanai, inviting courtyard entry, and adequate space for an optional swimming pool. Molding details were further added to the interior walls to enhance space and add memory points to the residence.

Each residence within Chiasso will feature classical Mediterranean architecture and be built of structurally engineered reinforced concrete block wall construction. Each home will have brick paver drives and a two- or three-car garage. Interior design features will include a luxury kitchen with granite counter tops and cabinets with decorative finishes; designer bath fixtures and cultured marble countertops; ceramic tile flooring; and a number of energy saving features.

Located just off Collier Boulevard between Naples and Marco Island, Fiddler’s Creek is an award-winning community that has recently been selected by the readers of the Naples Daily News and Bonita Daily News as “Best Community” in the 2012 Southwest Florida Readers’ Choice Awards.

The luxury, master-planned community comprises of nearly 4,000 acres and is zoned for 6,000 residences. With approximately 1,700 residences completed, Fiddler’s Creek has about 4,300 residences yet to be built. With a very low density level of 1.6 homes per gross acre, the community will have about 100 distinct neighborhoods upon completion. Less than a third of Fiddler’s Creek will be developed for residential use, while the remainder of the land is dedicated primarily to nature reserves, lakes, parks, golf courses and recreational areas.
