From the creators of 69 WAYS TO FALL IN LOVE comes HE LOVED THE SOFT PORN OF THE CITY, the classical, punk rock opera showcasing new music inspired by collaboration with Danish composer Morten Skovgaard Danielsen, an eccentric genius who, upon completing his magnum opus, died. This exciting, upbeat, and sensual show also featuring dance and film, at the Warehouse Theater July 14, 15, 21, 22, and 27 as part of the 7th Annual Capital Fringe Festival July 2012.

Part passion play, part psychedelic art rock opera, HE LOVED THE SOFT PORN OF THE CITY tells the story of a day in the life of Skovgaard while collaborating with Moderno Trio at an artist's colony in the Catskills of New York. Along with surrealist film, elliptical story telling and modern dance, the show draws inspiration from classical powerhouses such as Liszt and Beethoven and progressive modern bands like Nirvana and Pink Floyd.

"Ludwig van Beethoven + Kurt Cobain" – Dr. Allan Von Schenkel and Kristen Williams explored this fusion during their collaboration with composer Skovgaard and continued exploring it as they conceived HE LOVED THE SOFT PORN OF THE CITY. Von Schenkel says, "Nothing was too crazy. We explored every idea." The show also exhibits the talents of other collaborating artists, including Maryland dancer Renee Brozic Barger, and Washington, DC painter Heather Levy. One of the best up and coming indie bands, their music is called “engaging” and “surprising, memorable and effective” by the Washington Post.
