We are impressed by Jane's initiative in coming up with an innovative way to raise money with a fundraiser swim for new water play floatables and water walk equipment for her YMCA pool.

“Why are we doing this? Our aquatics center is such an awesome place for kids and families to play and have fun,” says Hansen. “However, over the years, some of our floatable "toys" have disintegrated and become unusable. The funds raised will go to replace these items.”
“Our first goal will be a new alligator. If that goal can be met, we will work on getting new pool safety pads for our lily pad water walk crossing. PLAYTIME, the company that makes these, has gotten excited about our challenge and has offered us a significant discount if we can come up with enough money for both!”
Hansen began her fundraising swim on June 29, 2012, swimming three Minnesota lakes - Red Sand, White Sand and Perch Lakes – on the first day. She will be accompanied by Margaret Schaefer in a kayak for all swims, (who has successfully guided her on longer swims in very crazy conditions).
“We are impressed by Jane’s initiative in coming up with an innovative way to raise money with a fundraiser swim for new water play floatables and water walk equipment for her YMCA community pool,” says Evelyn Hernandez, Water Park Specialist for PLAYTIME, LLC.
