Comtrend Corporation, a global supplier of advanced networking solutions, today announced a two-product expansion in its wireless Home Networking portfolio.
The WR-5881 and WR-5882 are four-port, Fast Ethernet routers utilizing Wireless N (150Mbps and 300Mbps respectively). With the inclusion of IPv6 readiness, Comtrend continues its growing support of the global transition from IPv4 to IPv6. This will ensure connectivity for home and business users for the foreseeable future.
“We remain committed to our service provider customers – as well as meeting their needs today and tomorrow. Earlier this month, the Internet Society declared June 6, 2012, to be the official day of transition to IPv6. These new models represent our growing portfolio of IPv6 ready Home Networking products - a trend we will continue,” said John DiFrenna, Vice President of Sales and Marketing of Comtrend- Americas.
Since its inception, IPv6 remains critical to the Internet’s continued growth as a platform for innovation and economic development. Comtrend adds to this growth by means of an IPv6 portfolio including three major categories, comprised of xDSL, Cable, and Home Networking. “We realize that many Service Providers are not prepared for full IPv6 adoption,” says Dan Knofler, Marketing Manager. “Nevertheless, Comtrend seeks to future-proof their deployments in every practical way. IPv4 addresses are limited, meaning that IPv6 must be on their roadmap today. With Comtrend as a partner, they’ve got that covered.”
