Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) July 06, 2012

The month of June has been a mixed one for the popular Facebook social game Happy Aquarium, with the game recording a slight dip in the number of daily active users yet remained constant in terms of monthly active users.

HappyAquarium.net, the number one online news and updates magazine for the Happy Aquarium game, reported that it’s number of daily active users up and down all month. The game began June with a total of 260,000 DAU, rising to as high as 270,000 DAU, before tailing off at the end of the month. Happy Aquarium’s DAU finally slipped to just 240,000 at the end of June, its lowest total recorded so far this year.

However, the game showed far more consistency in terms of monthly active users. Happy Aquarium ended May with some 2.3 million MAU, a figure that dropped to just 2.2 million in the first two weeks of June, before climbing back up to end the month where it started, at 2.3 million monthly active users.

According to HappyAquarium.net, the latest user stats show that the game is continuing to perform remarkably well in the face of stiff competition from a number of newly-released rivals which follow a similar concept.

In Happy Aquarium, users have to look after an aquarium full of virtual fish, by feeding their fish regularly, watching them grow up and collecting coins, which they can then use to buy various ornaments to decorate their fish tank. New games such as Fish with Attitude follow a very similar concept, yet many users have stayed true to the original.

Dan Lim, editor of HappyAquarium.net, said that Happy Aquarium would no doubt retain its popularity for several months to come:

“Even though the game has faced competition from a number of similar games, Happy Aquarium has proved that the original is still the best. The game has retained a hardcore following for several years now, and these users haven’t been tempted to switch to any of the game’s rivals."

"We’re expecting Happy Aquarium to remain one of the top Facebook games for many months to come.”

HappyAquarium.net sourced its data from the internet metrics and data provider, AppData.com.
