fitsmi.com, a unique web community for teen girls struggling with being overweight, announces the fitsmi 30-Day Summer Change Me Challenge to help girls get motivated, lose weight, get fit and feel good. fitsmi.com is a place where girls ages 13-18 can go to have fun, feel safe and get guidance surrounding food, exercise, inspiration and style.

fitsmi.com is encouraging girls to use their summer break to set goals related to weight and health, choose sustainable changes and track them from July 9th through August 7th.

At the core of the challenge is using the personalized fitsmi Change Machine, a free and effective daily goal setting and tracking tool, making it easy for girls to make small sustainable changes that add up to big results. Girls can track changes online or on their cell phones and handhelds through the convenient mobile website, fitsmi2Go.

“It’s not good enough just to talk about the obesity epidemic, we have to offer real help and real tools. Teen girls are at a vulnerable age so they need their own place where they feel safe to talk about their weight, connect with other girls, get advice on all things teen, including fashion, and have access to simple but effective tools,” explained Linda Frankenbach, CEO and founder of fitsmi.com and fitsmiForMoms.com.

“I encourage all girls to accept this challenge. Last year I took the fitsmi summer challenge, which soon went from a challenge to a lifestyle. fitsmi made me feel accepted and gave me back a lot of self confidence that I had lost over the years. It showed me how easy it is to set realistic goals with the Change Machine and make HEALTHY choices. It taught me how to love myself. I am now a healthier, happier and fitter me than ever before and I’m still going at it. I am a real runner now too and a lighter person in every way - my weight and my outlook on life, “ said Denise Campbell, a 16 year-old fitsmi member.

To make it even easier, fitsmi.com has narrowed down the list of over 100 possible changes to their top 30 choices for the summer around the categories of “eat,” “move,” “inspire,” as well as giving some savvy tips on summer “style.” As part of the program, girls can tap into the great tips on fitsmi.com on recipes, exercise and motivation and members of the community can share ideas with each other on how to use the fitsmi 30-Day Summer Change Me Challenge to kick-start their healthy habits. Girls can also go to Facebook to get in on the discussion. Besides looking and feeling better, every participant can receive a fitsmi gym bag. Go to fitsmi.com for details.
