By incorporating a flexible shield braiding system into the cables, it doubles or triples the flexibility of the cable - saving time and labor on the installation.

TPC Wire & Cable Corp. launched a new line of VFD cables for industrial motors ranging from ¼ horsepower to 350 horsepower. The sizes of VFD cables in the Trex-Onics line will range from 16awg – 4awg and the sizes in the Super-Trex line will start at 4awg to 535 Kcmil.
The entire VFD product line is designed to meet the full range of UL, c(UL) and CSA ratings, including TC-ER and FT-4. The cable design reduces the harsh electrical noise, interference and common-mode voltages associated with VFD systems, as well as providing corona protection up to 2,000 volts. To meet the dynamic application requirements commonly found in industrial facilities, the cables are designed to perform in continuously flexing environments such as cable carriers.
“The design of TPC ‘s VFD cable improves upon the older copper tape designs which made cables stiff and difficult to handle. By incorporating a flexible shield braiding system into the cables, it doubles or triples the flexibility of the cable - saving time and labor on the installation,” explains Reed Cushing, VP of Product Marketing.
With more and more VFD motor systems being used, the need for a quality VFD cable that can handle the abusive nature of industrial applications becomes a necessity.
