Acme’s Masonry Designer greatly simplifies the visualization of design choices and encourages the creative use of brick and other complementary masonry materials. And now Masonry Designer offers BIM functionality to make estimating in real time a reality. This product can be downloaded from the Acme Brick web site at http://www.brick.com and at http://www.featherlitetexas.com . Downloads are simple and only require a few minutes on most computer systems. Future downloads from this site involve only the specific brick product selected for greater speed and efficiency.

Masonry Designer software enables designers and architects to view various combinations of Acme Brick products, concrete block products from Featherlite Building Products, and glazed brick and glazed tile from Elgin Butler. Sample walls can be created in minutes using any of four brick sizes in over 200 brick colors and 40 mortar colors. Featherlite's block, Cordillera stone http://www.featherlitetexas.com/cordillerastone.htm and Hill Country stone http://www.featherlitetexas.com/hillcountrystone.htm in many versions can now be utilized with Masonry Designer. This newest version of Masonry Designer also includes Elgin Butler glazed products in 20 color options with glazed brick in modular size and glazed tile in two sizes. The user can change colors of brick, block and glazed products, bonding patterns, coursing, and mortar colors instantly.

Darren Mulchan, Project Manager for BHI Media (Builder Homesite) had this to say about Masonry Designer. “I’ve used Masonry Designer several times before, and it’s actually one of the most ideal programs for creating brick maps. It took a little while to figure out how to use it, but the way it works is similar to the way we create bricks manually. I especially like the way you can click on each brick to change its type to break up any repeating patterns, and that you can choose the size of the pattern you want to fill."

"We use Autodesk 3ds Max to model, and we create our materials from jpgs mostly, other formats work fine, but usually the files load faster when the materials have smaller files to reference. The alpha channel it saves out is also great for bump maps or displacement maps.”

Designs produced with Masonry Designer can be imported onto CAD and 3D rendering programs such as Auto CAD™ or Bryce™ software to create high quality, accurate renderings of the building project. Visit Acme on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/AcmeBrickCo
