We’re extremely excited to bring an essence from ancient cultures to each Logical Drift project. Even more so, adding musical healing compositions that produce enlightenment, relaxation and tranquility for conscious-driven lifestyle communities.
New York, NY (PRWEB) July 03, 2012
After the successful debut album by LOGICAL DRIFT which gained major nationwide-wide media attention from terrestrial, satellite and Internet radio including support from AOL, DMX Music, Music Choice, NPR, PBS, Sirius-XM and Yahoo! this past year, two more exciting project’s from LOGICAL DRIFT are being released. The artists’ record label, NYCMusic (nice music) has also launched its website in support of consistent album releases scheduled for this year.
As the first release for 2012, NYCMusic will be debuting “Varanasi Voyage: Yoga Meditation Series Vol.1” due for digital release today, July 3rd, 2012. The recording features John Matarazzo of LOGICAL DRIFT who remixes and overdubs master recordings of the great Pandit Ravi Shankar. These recordings of Shankar have been sitting in the NYCMusic vault for some time now, waiting for the right moment to shine. With albums by Ravi Shankar and his daughter, Anoushka Shankar both hitting the world music charts on iTunes recently, it’s indeed the perfect time to introduce Varanasi Voyage to traditional Indian sitar music fans, as well as to the conscious lifestyle community. The mesmerizing sound of the sitar by Ravi Shankar and electronic remix by John Matarazzo together creates a deep Delta state of relaxation. Alpha and Theta wave themes combine to create a state of visualization and deep meditation, while Beta and Gamma wave tracks are created to inspire and generate cognition and concentration.
For the follow-up release to Varanasi Voyage, NYCMusic will be introducing the new recording by LOGICAL DRIFT entitled ‘Colors of Asia’. As with the prior recording, this record is produced around a specific ancient cultural spiritual system, this time inspired by the cultures of Southern Asian. ‘Colors of Asia’ takes its influences from the vast, arid expanses of the Gobi Desert to the Asian steppe and the Shengdu Plateau and then onward to the mountainous jungles of Burma and Thailand onward to the northern reaches of Indian the Punjab and finally the Himalayas. “We’re extremely excited to bring an essence from ancient cultures to each Logical Drift project. Even more so, adding musical healing compositions that produce enlightenment, relaxation and tranquility for conscious-driven lifestyle communities.” mentions Josh East, Label Manager for NYCMusic.
John Matarazzo describes his experience in traveling to write and create these recordings thusly: “From the parched earth of the Gobi the beloved calls to the Dharma awaiting mystical union. A cup of love bring to me, my beloved. My heart wants to drink from your eyes. Let’s dance and shout. Bring in the volcanos, shake up in gidha. Moon of full moon night will dance, scent of flowers will be in air, as she enters the house. The glitter of the stars and moons of your necklace capture my heart. Each one of your seductive moves is more expensive than a million white clouds and white hills in the sky. The white, white dew has descended from there.”
As LOGICAL DRIFT continues to be well received in the ambient, chill-out, healing, meditation, new age, spa, world, and yoga music genres and sub-genres, NYCMusic has initiated strategic marketing plans within the Resort, Spa, Wellness Center and Yoga lifestyle communities. To do so, NYCMusic has manufactured a Gift Box Set, containing the ‘Colors of Asia’ music CD, a sage flower essential oil vial and Khataland yoga-meditation poster. The gift box set is made for these targeted lifestyle communities through the label’s sales & marketing programs. Additionally, cross-promotional opportunities are already in development with established brands from Conscious Box to Maji Sports. The label also sponsors the ‘Free Yoga for Musicians’ class held at the Gibson Showroom in Beverly Hills, California, covered by LA Yoga Magazine.
What else to expect from NYCMusic? The label has pulled master recordings from the NYCMusic vault to create new releases, including a Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry Dubstep Remix project, and a Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Power Yoga project. The label will also be releasing a yoga instructional course on DVD infused with music from LOGICAL DRIFT titled ‘Vinyasa Flow Yoga: An Instructional Course for Beginners” shot at the Gibson Showroom. This video will provide the Yoga practitioner a visualization of the fundamental yoga postures and practices to achieve the maximum benefit from the Vinyasa Yoga regimen.
