These are the best seats in the house for the people that want the magical views and little extras that will make this holiday season memorable.
Hood River, OR (PRWEB) July 05, 2012
Today, Mount Hood Railroad announces the availability of tickets for the premier, Upper Dome seating on the annual train ride - The Polar Express. Offering sweeping views of the approaching North Pole scenery, visitors to the Upper Dome will leave with an unforgettable experience that channels the popular Christmas story with appearances from well-known characters and familiar activities throughout the ride. Sales are opening early so both first-time guests and annual visitors can reserve the best seats before these quick-moving tickets leave the station for good.
“The Polar Express is one of our most popular events and we’re excited to offer these special tickets first, so that everyone who wants to view this ride from the glass-topped Upper Dome will have that opportunity,” said Meagan Back, Passenger Services Manager. “These are the best seats in the house for the people that want the magical views and little extras that will make this holiday season memorable.”
As the Polar Express train makes its magical journey through the Hood River area, dubbed the ‘North Pole’ during the winter months, riders, who are encouraged to wear their pajamas if they wish, will participate in a reading of the classic Christmas story, “The Polar Express,” and watch as the characters of the story come to life. The well-known conductor will check riders in as he punches holes in the children’s golden tickets, chefs will dance as they deliver cocoa (in a commemorative Polar Express mug for riders in the Upper Dome) and cookies, and the doubting hobo will wander throughout the train – all making this train ride just as entertaining as the one in the story.
Once the train reaches the ‘North Pole’, Santa Claus anxiously awaits the children amongst the sparkling lights of his city and climbs aboard with dozens of cheerful, singing elves. Santa and elves will then deliver a silver bell to each child, which are said to only be heard by those that believe in Santa Claus and the spirit of Christmas. The return trip is full of holiday cheer with Santa meeting each and every child and festive caroling with Santa’s elves.
“The Polar Express is a joy to recreate,” said Ron Kaufman, General Manager of the Mt. Hood Railroad. “Seeing the look on every child’s face as they board the train in anticipation is really what the holiday season is about. We look forward to this every year.”
