TriSpecific founder, Kristian Manietta, knows this as he has experienced it first hand. He followed the traditional endurance coaching model himself, as has his wife, professional Ironman Champion Charlotte Paul, and many of his friends. Only after a stint of sickness for both him and his wife, just after a race, which resulted in them both achieving an Ironman PR (Kristian 8:57 & Charlotte 9:00), did he start to question the traditional approach.

Kristian poured himself into research and application of new methods, which went against all his previously held beliefs about training and how to attain consistent and personal best performances. He raced the same race twelve months later and again broke the nine hour Ironman barrier with nearly 50% less training - and he won his age group.

The TriSpecific training system that he developed through his experiences (going from an 11:27 Ironman time to 8:57) now helps long-course triathletes cut typical excessive training miles. It’s a holistic approach that has produced age group world champions, numerous Ironman champions (both professional and age group) and many a Kona (Hawaiian Ironman) qualifier.
