PEC/RM, Inc extends its portfolio of firehouse projects to the City of Bayonne.

Adding to the experience of exceptional firehouse projects, PEC/RM, Inc of Millville, NJ was awarded the construction contract to develop the New South Harbor Fire Station to be located at the Peninsula at Bayonne Harbor, which is intended to serve the Harbor and surrounding vicinity.

The new fire station will be approximately 11,000sf of space with three double deep engine bays, reception and office areas, living and sleeping quarters, kitchen, dining, laundry and exercise areas. The facade of the building will be comprised of brick and siding that will compliment the ongoing design of the peninsula. The new Station will be constructed on a newly created lot on the peninsula which was provided by the Bayonne Local Redevelopment Authority. The construction time frame is estimated to take approximately 6 months.

"We are extremely proud to be the selected contractor," says Robert Mesmer, Vice President and General Manager of PEC/RM, Inc. "The building has a great design provided by RSC Architects, and this design will prove to help in the expediting of the construction process." RSC Architects has a portfolio of exceptional firehouse projects throughout New Jersey. "we have a short time frame to work in," says Mesmer "but we are extremely confident in our abilities and the abilities of our sub contractors to produce a high quality product in the specified time."

The Peninsula is the former location of the defunct Military Ocean Terminal at Bayonne which has been planned to be converted into a mixed use waterfront community of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces. This peninsula is a premier location as it protrudes two miles into the New York Harbor providing unobstructed views of the Statue of Liberty, Staten Island, Manhattan and Brooklyn.
