Having a great idea for an original product that solves an everyday problem is one thing but to successfully bring it to market and build it into a thriving business is quite another. It has been a difficult journey, but now Tim Kierath, founder of Hoselink, greatly enjoys receiving compliments from thousands of happy customers throughout Australia.

After ten years of hard work and support of a loyal customer base, this small family company has emerged as a true Australian success story.

In 1998, Tim recognised that for many gardeners, an unreliable hose fitting can turn a simple watering task into a real headache. And so, he developed Hoselink fittings which he guarantees will never burst off a garden hose.

Initially selling through the five largest retail outlets in Australia, Tim found this business model tough going. Tim, reflecting on these early years, said: "Funding an expanding business on low gross profit margins is a go-broke model. So, with our back to the wall, we decided to take control of our destiny". In 2009, Hoselink began selling direct to Australian consumers via their website and toll free phone number. As a result, business thrived and a loyal customer base flourished. Hoselink's patented no-burst hose fittings are now found in over a million Australian homes.

Tim believes the strong customer relationships built by Hoselink's direct-to-consumer model is key to their continued success. Customer feedback directly influences development of Hoselink’s new products, two of which will be featured at the upcoming Newcastle Home Show: Auto Rewind Hose Reels and their new range of EvoWorks High Pressure Washers.

Tim commented, “Although never easy, it is extremely satisfying to bring quality products to market that outperform anything else readily available to Australian consumers. Hearing, first-hand, the great experience our customers have in using our product is immensely rewarding”.

Tim and his team will be promoting Hoselink's range of products at stand 28/29 at the Newcastle Home Show, 27th - 29th July, 2012.

Hoselink's exclusive range is available online at http://www.hoselink.com.au or via phone on 1300 900 617.
