JUPITER, Fla. (PRWEB) July 05, 2012
The Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation and Miami Children’s Hospital have teamed up to open the Miami Children’s Hospital Nicklaus Outpatient Center this summer.
The 21,500-square-foot facility will feature a range of pediatric outpatient services.
The center will be located on a piece of Palm Beach Gardens real estate called Legacy Place, a popular retail-shopping center at 11310 Legacy Lane. It will become the second pediatric-care facility of its kind in Palm Beach County.
In 2010, the Miami Children’s Hospital Nicklaus Care Center opened on the campus of Palms West Hospital in Loxahatchee in western Palm Beach County. Since then, the center has had more than 1,800 visits. Its pediatric subspecialists include a craniofacial / plastic / reconstructive surgeon, dermatologists, endocrinologists, clinical geneticists, gastroenterologists, allergists / immunologists, neurologists, nephrologists, and an orthopedic surgeon specializing in scoliosis and spinal disorders.
“With the opening of the Miami Children’s Hospital Nicklaus Outpatient Center in Palm Beach Gardens, we will take the next step in answering the call of our community to provide enhanced pediatric care services,” said Barbara Nicklaus, chairwoman of the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation. “For many families in Palm Beach County, finding specialized services for their children is a challenge. It is our hope that the new center will offer convenience, access to world-class care and, above all, the help and support that families in our community need and deserve.”
“Miami Children’s is privileged to benefit from the collaboration of the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation,” said Dr. M. Narendra Kini, president and CEO of Miami Children’s Hospital. “The support of this worthy entity, and of Jack and Barbara Nicklaus, is an inspiration to us all as we work to expand access to pediatric services in South Florida.”
The Palm Beach Gardens center will open in stages and should be complete by the Fall. In addition to the Pediatric Subspecialty Services Department, the center will feature the Pediatric Urgent Care Center, Pediatric Diagnostic Services and Pediatric Rehabilitation Services.
The mission of the Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation is to provide support for activities that advance and enhance the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of childhood diseases and disorders. In addition, the foundation supports not-for-profit programs and projects aimed at children’s health, safety and well-being.
Nicklaus, wife of legendary golfer Jack Nicklaus, has been instrumental in making the Palm Beach Gardens center a reality. The Nicklauses have a home in Lost Tree Village in North Palm Beach.
