Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) July 09, 2012
Sitka Management Corp., a Canadian firm facilitating private equity investments, announced that it has established strategic relationships with several leading Israeli venture capital (VC) companies.
Through these relationships, individual and institutional investors may gain access to investing in innovative Israeli based companies without being present in Israel. Sitka acts as a liaison between investors and VCs, providing introductions, extensive due diligence and ongoing monitoring of investments, while eliminating many of the hurdles involved with international investments.
Focus on Israel
Sitka focuses exclusively on Israeli investment opportunities. With a culture geared toward production of exceptional talent and relentless entrepreneurial drive, Israel has:
"Israel is a global dominant force when it comes to innovation", according to Ken Finkelstein, President and Founder of Sitka. "Silicon Valley VCs have set up offices in Israel, along with tech titan Google, which plans to open an incubator office in Tel Aviv in August, 2012. And many of the world's largest companies have established R&D centres in Israel including IBM, Intel, HP, Nestle, GE, Microsoft, Siemens and a host of others. For years, Israel has been a hotbed of innovation, turning ideas into fast growth businesses while delivering superior returns to investors."
Israeli Infrastructure Fund
During the next decade, more than $10B (CAD) is expected to be invested in Israeli infrastructure projects owing to tremendous growth within the country.
Currently, Sitka is introducing individual and institutional investors to an Israeli Infrastructure Fund (the "Fund") that intends to invest in toll roads, tunnels, light rail, water desalination, wastewater treatment, traditional energy, renewable energy and Israeli government infrastructure projects. The Fund has already raised more than $145M (CAD) with an investor base that includes many of Israel's leading institutional investors.
The Fund's expected annual rate of return is 12% not including potential gains realized upon expiration of Fund term. As well, non-Israeli investors are not subject to Israeli tax on Fund distributions and Canadians and Americans may benefit from the tax treaty between their country and Israel. Anticipated closing date is October, 2012, or as soon as target Fund size is achieved.
