Liberty, Mo. (PRWEB) July 06, 2012

Northland Family Care, founded in 1935 by Dr. Glenn Hendren, who also helped bring Liberty Hospital to the community, has expanded its staff with the addition of physician Jared Dirks, MD, and nurse practitioner Nicole Ragland, RN, MSN, NP-C. The Liberty practice provides a full spectrum of care to patients from their infancy through their geriatric years. With the two staff additions, the practice now has a total of three physicians and two nurse practitioners to meet the needs of Kansas City’s growing community north of the river.

Jared Dirks, MD
Dr. Jared Dirks is a licensed family practice physician at Northland Family Care (NFC), and he is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He joined Northland Family Care in January 2012.

Before joining Northland Family Care, Dirks most recently served as Medical Director of Community Health Partners, a rural health clinic in Warrensburg, Mo. In addition to his new role as a full-time family practice physician at NFC, Dirks remains the Medical Director of Crossroads Hospice, and he provides services to the Expanding Horizons program, which offers residential care to those with developmental disabilities.

Dirks completed the accelerated medical program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2002 and then served as a medical resident at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians and Doctors Without Borders.

Nicole Ragland, RN, MSN, NP-C
Nicole Ragland joined Northland Family Care in December 2011 as a nurse practitioner with special focus in women’s health (including well-woman exams), pediatrics and diabetes. Ragland takes appointments for both adult and pediatric patients. She is able to order testing and laboratory work, and she prescribes medicines as needed for patients who may be unable to obtain a same-day appointment with their primary care physician at Northland Family Care.

Before joining Northland Family Care, Ragland spent six years working as an RN at Children’s Mercy Hospital and Liberty Hospital. She graduated from Research College of Nursing in 2005 and earned her Master’s degree in nursing from the University of Cincinnati in 2011.
