Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) July 07, 2012

Smoothie Factory, a leader in today’s juice bar industry, today announced the company has signed a master franchise agreement for the country of India with Mr. Anil Khera, a prominent Indian businessman, to develop the brand throughout India. The first two stores under the agreement will open in Delhi, during the fourth quarter of 2012. The signing of the agreement marked the continuing expansion of the Smoothie Factory System internationally. Next month, Smoothie Factory plans to celebrate the opening of its first of many Middle East stores in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. With the opening in Delhi, Smoothie Factory will operate in 5 countries. Subsequently, Qatar, UAE, and Bahrain locations are scheduled to open in 2013.

“Smoothie Factory has been well received in both the United States and around the world, with a continued history of successful international growth,” said James Villasana, President of Smoothie Factory. “We are delighted to be opening stores in India with Anil Khera, an eminently qualified businessman with a proven track record of success and his son Arjun Khera, a recent graduate in food science from Michigan State University. We look forward to supporting them as they develop and introduce the Smoothie Factory brand throughout India.”

The new stores will be tastefully decorated with bright colors, rich textures, and a modern design. The front counter will take center stage where guests can watch as all of Smoothie Factory’s innovative smoothies and fresh squeezed juices are prepared. The menu features a wide variety of smoothie including everything form the signature Strawberry Patch™ and Tropical Squeeze™ to Power Shots™ and Meal Replacement Smoothies. In addition, a full frozen yogurt bar will offer a wide variety of flavors to choose from and an expanded toppings station with dry and fresh fruit toppings, along with healthy alternatives to traditional fast food, as well as specialty hot beverages.

“We are pleased and excited to be working alongside James and the Smoothie Factory team who have led the way to make the brand internationally known. Texas, where the brand originates has very similar weather conditions to India, which increases the probability of Smoothie Factory being greeted well in India,” said Anil Khera, Chairman of Smoothie Factory India.

“With no prominent smoothie brands in India (yet), combined with the weather and increasing demand for healthier options, we are looking to make Smoothie Factory the preferred destination for our customers by providing great tasting yet healthy products of the highest quality,” said Arjun Khera, CEO of Smoothie Factory India.

In addition to the store’s new look and feel, Smoothie Factory will also adapt its menu to the Indian palate. The brand will offer traditional American favorites like Peanut Butter Powerhouse™, while also offering traditional flavors, including The Mango Smoothie™ and Lassi. The shop’s official grand opening will be celebrated with much fanfare, including a ceremony complete with ribbon cutting.
