Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 17, 2012
The BACnet Testing Laboratories (BTL) operated by SoftDEL Ltd. has had accreditation to ISO 17025 reaffirmed. This reaffirmation includes an assessment of the laboratory’s compliance with the A2LA Information Technology Program Requirements.
ISO 17025 is the international standard by which a laboratory’s commitment to quality is evaluated. SoftDEL Ltd. achieved this accreditation in 2010 by demonstrating technical competence for product compliance testing with the BACnet building automation protocol, and for the operation and effectiveness of its laboratory. ISO 17025 not only considers management and technical expertise, but also emphasizes continual product and process improvement.
Duffy O’Craven, BTL Manager stated “As the number of ISO 17025 facilities for testing BACnet increases, we are excited in the coming year to be participating in a Round-robin test with the other labs. This ensures every lab's proficiency and that comparable results are obtained in a strictly controlled and carefully evaluated test by all labs upon the same device.”
“Reaffirming of the ISO accreditation reinforces BACnet International’s commitment to provide users and suppliers with the best possible conformance and interoperability testing for BACnet devices,” noted Andy McMillan, President of BACnet International and President of Philips Teletrol.
The BTL has been providing conformance testing for BACnet-based products for nearly 12 years.
