Wired Media Corp. announced today that Sara G has teamed with Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) in the U.S. to incorporate her single "Call Me a Cab" with MADD's efforts to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving and underage drinking during the '100 Deadliest Days of Summer.' "I am happy to be part of such a worthwhile campaign and to support MADD in sending such a powerful message. There are far too many deaths and injuries that are related to drinking and driving and anything I can do to send a message is definitely worth it," said Sara G from her home in Toronto, Canada.
The former Miss World Canada and recording artist went on to state that her record company Inasense Records, in which she is part owner, is also giving MADD .29 cents for every single sold on iTunes and encourages others to support the summer campaign in any way they can even if it is just buying the single and spreading the word.
“Hundreds of thousands of people are injured or killed every year as a result of drunk driving and underage drinking and these numbers increase significantly during the summer months,” said MADD National President Jan Withers. “These PSAs featuring Sara G serve as important reminders to the public about the dangers of underage drinking, in addition to impaired driving and the importance of planning ahead for a safe way home if adults are going to be drinking.” Withers added “On behalf of MADD, I would like to express our appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate with Sara G on these important public service announcements.”
