Newly Unveiled Company Brings Department Store Quality and Design to Home Decorators Without the High Price Tag

Crane & Canopy™, a new brand revolutionizing the home goods space with Silicon Valley smarts and San Francisco style, today launched to the public and unveiled its first line of bedding products for style-loving, web-savvy US consumers.

Founding team: Karin Shieh and Christopher Sun, the operational and creative minds behind Crane & Canopy, are changing the way consumers shop for home décor with a direct-to-consumer-only model that is poised to change the face of the home goods industry.

“When I purchased my first home, I wanted to decorate it with superior quality and beautiful designs at a price point that didn’t make purchasing home goods seem like an investment,” said Karin Shieh, co-founder and head of marketing at Crane & Canopy. “I talked with many of my friends who were also decorating their homes, and almost all of them were frustrated by the same things – expensive price tags and limited selection of affordable styles. That was my ‘aha!’ moment for creating Crane & Canopy.”

The Company is launching first with bedding, an area the company has found is a big shopping pain point for women. Currently, bedding is an $8B category dominated by department stores, specialty stores and large home goods megabrands. By cutting out the middlemen, operating online, and designing its own products, Crane & Canopy is able to pass savings on to the customer.

“We want to change the way the bedding industry currently operates,” said Christopher Sun, co-founder and CEO at Crane & Canopy. “We’re leveraging our supply-chain and design expertise to create a direct-to-consumer-only model, which allows us to operate without the industry-standard huge mark-ups. To ensure superior quality on our products for our customers, we have partnered with the same manufacturers as premium designer brands and specialty stores.”

Crane & Canopy touts a talented team of designers coming from the range of industries in home goods, textiles, fashion and interior designs. “We are working with some phenomenal designers to create beautiful designs for our customers. Our designers are focused on keeping up with hottest fashions and trends and incorporating these inspirations into our products,” said Karin.

Beginning today, consumers nationwide can visit Crane & Canopy to choose from ten new bedding designs, multiple comforters, pillows and mattress pads. The company plans to unveil new products as often as twice a month to ensure consumers can continuously choose from a variety of designs to suit their home décor needs any time of the year.
