Karco Communications, based in Wilmington, North Carolina was recently named as an authorized vendor under the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) latest Tactical Communications (TacCom) contract.
This contract is a Multiple Award, Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract for tactical communications products, infrastructure and services. Karco was awarded the opportunity to fill requirements for DHS and its component agencies in four technical categories, which will include the purchase of Equipment, Infrastructure, Infrastructure Services, and Operation and Maintenance Services. In each of the last two categories, Karco was one of four firms selected via the Small Business Track. This track provides contracting activities the ability to make cost effective purchases while working towards meeting their small business procurement goals.
David Mulholland, Executive Vice President of Karco Enterprises, Inc., the parent corporation of Karco Communications and Program Manager for the TacCom contract commented on this important award: “All of us on the Karco team are extremely excited about the opportunities that the TacCom contract presents. The TacCom contract has a $3 Billion ceiling over five years, with a base contract term of two years and three-one year options, according to Karco.
