Many purchasers of Manufactured Homes bought separate home warranties at the initial purchase time of the home. As homes age, these warranties expire and may be difficult to renew. Specialty Mobilehome insurance provider International Insurance Group, Inc. (http://www.iigins.com) now offers a new coverage enhancement that includes warranty coverage as part of the regular Property and Liability policy.
"Our underwriting partner, American Modern Insurance Group, has recently added an optional coverage called Mechanical Breakdown coverage to its Manufactured and Mobile home insurance policies. While the coverage is not a warranty per se, it covers many of the things consumers look for in an extended warranty, and in fact, it eliminates the need for an extended warranty in most cases", state Derek Kartchner, CRO of International Insurance Group, Inc.
The Mechanical Breakdown coverage endorsement provides coverage for mechanical breakdown, electrical or electronic breakdown or rupture, bursting, bulging of appliances and electronic devices such as air conditioning and central heating appliances, electronics, like a computer or TV, electrical panel, pool equipment, and well or sump pumps. In short, if it’s plugged in, it’s probably covered under this endorsement.
The coverage provided by this endorsement to a Manufactured Home insurance policy is subject to a deductible of $250 or $500 dollars. The total cost of the $250 deductible is $30 in most states, and $15 in most states for the $500 deductible. The maximum amount payable is $25,000.
In addition to making this coverage available on it's manufactured home insurance policy, American Modern Insurance Group has recently announced that they will be making this same great coverage available on their landlord, seasonal, and vacant dwelling policies as well.
