College Football Performance Awards today announced its 2012 Watch List. The Watch List highlights returning CFPA recipients and other top performers in D-I FBS & FCS college football; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration for weekly, annual, or career awards at their respective positions.

College Football Performance Awards today announced its 2012 Watch List. The Watch List highlights returning CFPA recipients and other top performers in D-I FBS & FCS college football; players are not preemptively eliminated from consideration for weekly, annual, or career awards at their respective positions.

2011 CFPA National Performer of the Year Matt Barkley and 2011 CFPA National Freshman Performer of the Year Braxton Miller return on the 2012 CFPA Offensive Awards Watch List. 2011 CFPA Defensive Back Trophy winner David Amerson returns on the 2012 CFPA Defensive Awards Watch List. Additionally, two-time CFPA recipient Quinn Sharp returns on the 2012 CFPA Special Teams Awards Watch List. Other returning recipients include 2011 CFPA Running Back Trophy winner Montee Ball, 2011 CFPA Kickoff Returner Trophy winner De'Anthony Thomas, 2011 CFPA Elite Linebacker Trophy winner Jarvis Jones, and 2010 CFPA National Freshman Performer of the Year Marcus Lattimore.

The 2012 CFPA D-I FCS Awards Watch List was also announced. 2011 CFPA FCS National Performer of the Year Taylor Heinicke returns to Old Dominion for his sophomore season with a twenty-five to one passing touchdown to interception ratio. Other returning recipients include 2011 CFPA FCS Wide Receiver Award winner Aaron Mellette, 2011 CFPA FCS Defensive Back Award winner Marcus Williams, and 2011 CFPA FCS Punter Award winner Patrick Murray.

About College Football Performance Awards:
College Football Performance Awards is the largest awards organization in D-I FBS & FCS college football. CFPA selects all recipients based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. Last season, nine CFPA recipients were first-round NFL Draft selections.
