The USO Board of Governors announces two new members to serve on its board in 2012. The new board members include:
•Beatriz Perez, Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer, The Coca-Cola Company.
•Thomas E. Vice, Corporate Vice President of Northrop Grumman, and President of Northrop Grumman’s Technical Services sector.
Perez and Vice were elected to the USO Board of Governors at its May meeting in Colorado Springs, CO. These two new members join a governance board of 36 members, representing top leaders in diverse fields such as defense, business, entertainment, media, and philanthropy.
“Our newest board members were selected to assist the USO with its ongoing initiatives to lift the spirits of America’s troops and their families serving around the world,” said General Richard B. Myers (USAF, Ret), Chairman of the USO Board of Governors and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. “Both Bea and Tom bring a wealth of experience and diverse backgrounds that will generate awareness and aid in the promotion of the USO’s mission worldwide.”
In November 2010, General Richard B. Myers (USAF, ret.) became the Chairman of the USO Board of Governors. He was elected to the board in 2006.

New Member Background
Beatriz R. Perez
Beatriz Perez is Chief Sustainability Officer of The Coca-Cola Company. She is responsible for creating and overseeing an integrated, global sustainability strategy; assessing and driving scaled investments; and managing and tracking key global partnerships and projects. Previously, Perez served as the Chief Marketing Officer for the North American Division of The Coca-Cola Company, and has been responsible for negotiating and leading efforts with film, music, television, interactive and sports partnerships, including NASCAR, PGA, U.S. Olympic Committee, NBA, the OSCARS, and many others. In her career at The Coca-Cola Company, Perez launched the Coke Digital Network (CDN), an innovative media communication tool. She also developed the Company’s award-winning Motorsports marketing platform, which launched Coca-Cola as the Official Soft Drink of NASCAR, created the Coca-Cola Racing Family and secured The Coca-Cola Company partnership with International Speedway Corporation, which includes the prestigious Daytona 500. Perez has been inducted into the American Advertising Hall of Achievement and the Sport’s Business Journal’s Hall of Fame. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from the University of Maryland.
Thomas E. Vice
Tom Vice is Corporate Vice President and President of Northrop Grumman’s Technical Services sector, a recognized leader in integrated logistics and modernization, high technology defense and government services and training solutions, with more than 14,000 employees.
Vice leads businesses located at more than 300 locations in all 50 states and 29 countries, providing services integral to national and global security while supporting a diverse customer base that includes the Department of Defense. Internationally, Technical Services has approximately 3,000 employees located throughout Southwest Asia and the Middle East supporting the Global War on Terrorism as well as multiple locations in Africa, Asia and Europe. A member of the company’s corporate policy council, he most recently served as sector vice president and general manager of the Battle Management and Engagement Systems division for Northrop Grumman Corporation's Aerospace Systems sector. Vice received his Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California. He has completed numerous advanced management programs at the California Institute of Technology; the UCLA Anderson School, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
