Will the family ever get their revenge and move on to the peaceful life they want?

In his new novel “Calabria With Love” (published by iUniverse Publishing), Gianni Callari tells the story of a family overcoming incredible odds in their fight for their freedom.

Deep in the Calabrian mountains, a family lives under the oppression and tyranny of a violent baron. After the family refuses one of his offers, he launches a brutal attack aimed squarely at the children. The baron attempts to kill one toddler in the family and forcefully adopts another. Now a member of the family crafts a plan to infiltrate the baron’s inner circle and meditates revenge.

An excerpt from “Calabria With Love”:

The Great Sila, Calabria.

Here is an uncontaminated territory where extensive flat land dips into valleys and plains with radiant forest vegetation.

Beech, oak, chestnut and pine trees provide a particular wood used by the ancient Romans to build the shells of ships.

The area, seen from above, looks like a huge crater formed by mountains, the highest peaks arranged along the circumference, one next to the other.

Years pass. Driven by the need for justice, the family endures many sacrifices, battles and trials while the baron continues to rule over them. Will the family ever get their revenge and move on to the peaceful life they want?
