Founded in 1895, the classical music festival will consist of more than 70 performances at the Royal Albert Hall, a series of chamber concerts at Cadogan Hall, as well as ‘Proms in the Park’ finale events across the country. In addition to the concerts at the Royal Albert Hall, which are priced significantly lower than concerts in this venue would usually be, the last night sees parks around Britain come alive to join in the celebration. Areas including Northern Ireland and Glasgow have their own festivals in major parks to mark the culmination of this annual event, in style.

London’s Hyde Park will be putting on a concert including performances from the BBC Orchestra, Il Divo and Kylie Minogue amongst others. The great variety in performances may be what led to Czech conductor, Jiri Belohlavek, describing BBC Proms as ‘the world’s largest and most democratic music festival.’

BBC Proms is not an event to be missed for anybody who enjoys music, and tickets for individual performances can be booked online.
