The Hanover Inn at Dartmouth reopened Phase 1 of its transformational renovation right on time for family summer vacations in the Upper Valley of New Hampshire and Vermont. Summer packages, from "Golf" to "Family Fun" introduce guests to local recreation and attractions; and the “Big Green” recreational opportunities of Dartmouth College are well-named, both on-campus and off, as Hanover is a great destination for outdoor activities.

The bordering Connecticut River offers canoeing and kayaking, the hiking trails of Moose Mountain and the Appalachian Trail (which passes right up Wheelock Street in front of the hotel) and the Hanover Country Club welcomes visitors to its 18-hole championship course and its Mink Brook for fishing. Local Storrs Pond Recreation Area offers swimming and tennis and the Dartmouth Riding Center at Morton Farm welcomes horse lovers. Local attractions include events and performances at the College’s Hopkins Center for the Arts and Hood Museum of Art](both of which are next door to the hotel). New Hampshire's only National Historic Site, the summer home and studio of sculptor Augustus Saint Gaudens in nearby Cornish, NH is open for tours. The “Family Fun Package” at the Inn includes accommodations in one of the 94 newly renovated rooms overlooking the Dartmouth campus and the vibrant, shop-filled downtown; cookies and milk on arrival, complimentary full breakfast for two adults and two children, and admission to one of the following local attractions for two adults and two children:
