The Simmons Firm, a national leading asbestos and mesothelioma litigation firm, is proud to show its support of the mesothelioma community during the 9th Annual Meso Foundation Symposium, organized by the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation. The firm is a gold sponsor of the conference.
“As a Gold Sponsor of the 2012 Meso Foundation Symposium, we are proud to support the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation and its mission to support patients, fund research and advocate for a cure,” said Chairman John Simmons. “Events like these are vital to uniting the community and helping people impacted by a mesothelioma diagnosis know they are not alone when dealing with the challenges this disease brings.”
The Simmons Firm has a long-standing commitment to support individuals and families impacted by asbestos-related diseases in and out of the courtroom, Simmons said. The firm has pledged nearly $20 million to cancer research and has been the longest cumulative supporter of the Meso Foundation with over $2 million donated to support its programming since 1999.

Attendees will also learn how they can “be the answer” in a session about fundraising for mesothelioma. It is presented by Shelly Kozicki and Erica Ruble, who have both raised over $100,000 in honor of family members who died of mesothelioma.
A session presented by mesothelioma survivor Julie Gundlach and Meso Foundation Nurse Mary Hesdorffer will provide updates on the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program. The Meso Foundation has worked to secure nearly $5 million in federal funds for mesothelioma research through the program.
