Kyrgyzstan is a small country with a population of only 5.5 million people in Central Asia. Key sectors of the economy are: agriculture, mining and processing, manufacture and distribution of electric power, construction sector and trade.

After gaining independence from the Soviet Union in 1991, the political and economic transition of Kyrgyzstan was complicated. Economic challenges remain high and the political situation is unstable.

Bai Tushum and Partners is one of the leading microfinance institutions in the Kyrgyz Republic. Its mission is to be a reliable financial partner that contributes to the economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic, through the delivery of microfinance services that increase employment and meet the interests of clients and investors. Bai Tushum and Partners has over 32,000 active clients and was the first microfinance company in the country to obtain a deposit license.
