New York, New York (PRWEB) July 09, 2012
Picksie (http://www.picksie.com), which launched last year as the first location-based discovery service with the ability to personalize options based on consumers’ picks, announced today a new partnership with celebrity food finder database TV FoodMaps (APSquared, LLC) to be able to offer Android and iOS users the ability to find famous restaurants featured on TV in their area. In addition to this upgrade, users will also be able to access advanced menus from bars and restaurants without ever leaving the app.
These new capabilities were previewed at this year’s 2012 Internet Week New York, where tech insiders were able to get a first look at the exciting new features. Going forward, users interested in celebrity featured restaurants will be able to see a new category for entertainment options, sort by those preferences, and have the option to view menu items and prices while browsing the thousands of restaurants in their immediate area. Both new updates will give users yet another customized tool to help them decide the best option for what to do “right here, right now”; saving users time and getting the best recommendations for their needs.
Picksie is quickly becoming the go-to destination for users who find themselves needing a little entertainment guidance across the 900 cities which the app services. The announcement of the TV FoodMap partnership and advanced Menu Feature comes as part of their extensive 2012 announcements including, the March launch of Picksie on the Android platform and their most recent announcement, the integrated Ticket Purchasing feature. All of these announcements are focused on a dedication to improving customer service and fostering a user-friendly experience with the most up-to-date technology possible.
“The new partnership with TV FoodMaps and the integrated menu feature, like all of our upgrade features, is something the Picksie team is very proud of. We believe it is just one more useful tool that has made Picksie a top performing app in the competitive location-based service marketplace. As we continue to move forward in creating the premier one-stop, fully integrated mobile entertainment guide, we will stay dedicated to exploring all options that can potentially create a more intriguing and engaging experience for our users,” says Ajay Mohan, CEO, Picksie. “We have positioned Picksie on the forefront of the industry when it comes to mobile capabilities and we hope this new feature will help enable all users the ability to truly take advantage of the service.”
