With the successful launch of Studiomix, San Francisco’s largest health and total wellness club, in March 2012, Owner Mystie Webster has decided to take her vision of a healthy San Francisco one step further and partner with the National Fitness Campaign to create the first Annual Field Day. Since 1979, the National Fitness Campaign has been bringing free fitness to the people with their outdoor fitness courts, over 10,000 in the US. On April 1st, the revamped San Francisco Marina Green court was unveiled and opened up for daily 24 hour use. Webster’s vision behind Studiomix: to bring all types of fitness studios under one roof, increasing the accessibility of different types of movement to the public at an affordable price, making fitness social and educational is in line with the goals of the NFC. Together they hope to promote a healthy active lifestyle, teaching people that you can get a great workout with just your bodyweight in a short period of time.
This collaboration led to the creation of Field Day, which will take place on Saturday, July 14th, to bring people together for a friendly day of challenging social competition. Revisiting our very first workout experiences, teams will be formed to compete against each other on the 34.5’x32′ Fitness Court and on the field. The terrain is divided into a seven bodyweight training stations which were specifically engineered to be easy to learn. The teams will be mixed and suitable for a range of age groups and fitness levels. Everyone will enjoy a variety of fitness activities on the field as well, the novice and Tough Mudder aficionado alike!
The team of Studiomix health coaches will be on hand to join in on the fun. The massage team will be giving away free chair massages and Atlas Chiropractic, the in-house Studiomix Chiropractor, will be doing free spinal assessments for all of the athletes taking the field. Core, Kind, Hint, and Vega will be fueling participants with donated healthy bars and beverages. Additional sponsors include Max Muscle, Lucy, and Marathon Matt.
Field Day is free for all and everyone is welcome. To sign-up and get more information about this active outdoor event email rsvp(at)studiomix(dot)com.
