Level One Technologies has agreed to participate in two government transparency forums this week in Washington D.C.

On July 10th, Level One will join other Data Coalition members and participate in the DATA Act Demo Day. On that day, JJ Kirkpatrick, Level One’s Director of Marketing, will introduce Parrascope, as a completed reporting solution for the DATA Act.

Parrascope allows state governments and their agencies to create web-based networks of sub-recipients and vendors to gather and report data to the Federal government, using a common data markup language. The software is designed to reduce the time and cost of achieving the DATA Act’s goal of enhancing fraud detection and improving the management, accountability and transparency of all Federal spending.

Following that presentation, Tom Whaley, President of Level One Technologies, will take part in the “Transparency Advocacy” roundtable discussion at the International Open Government Data Conference to be held in Washington D.C. on July 11, 2012.

During the roundtable, Mr. Whaley will discuss Level One’s experience in integrating and managing data online, using standardized language and common platforms to create private networks for their customers, to expand sales, manage vendors, improve accounting and reduce cost. He will discuss the importance of creating similar networks for government, to improve spending management, reduce fraud and waste, and become fully transparent and accountable to the taxpayer for all expenditures of Federal funds.

Parrascope was developed in conjunction with the State of Wyoming, who used the system to report ARRA grants received from the Federal government. Since it was created, the system has evolved into a complete grant reporting solution managed on servers that collect, compile and report data from a wide range of state and sub-recipient databases. The system was developed to replace lengthy data collection, entry and compilation processes with a streamlined data upload, review and submission process that satisfies all Federal reporting requirements and provides a high level of transparency to federal and state officials and other interested parties.

According to Mr. Whaley, one of the most important guidelines the company adhered to in the development of Parrascope was “the need to combine strong technology with a quality user interface and a concierge level of service for its users.”

Commenting on the development of Parrascope and the assistance of Level One’s support team, Bob von Wolffradt, the former CIO for the State of Wyoming, called the decision to design, build and implement Parrascope “one of his best decisions.”

Dianne Bailey, formerly of the Wyoming Department of Education said, “Between the exceptional product and excellent customer service, Wyoming was a leading state in accurate and transparent reporting for ARRA.”

If the DATA Act passes, the Parrascope system will be offered as a solution that allows states and other members to submit highly accurate reports in a fraction of the time most agencies spent reporting ARRA grants. That’s because modifications to Parrascope are already in place to ensure an accurate and streamlined DATA reporting process; one that will allow users to be fully compliant with federal requirements and submit detailed reports in a matter of minutes.
