Registration Opens for the Kolor for Kids FunFest 5K Run/Walk Sponsored by Element Mobile Benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network

The Kolor for Kids FunFest, sponsored by Element Mobile to benefit Children’s Miracle Network, is now open for registration.

The Kolor for Kids FunFest, sponsored by Element Mobile to benefit Children’s Miracle Network, is now open for registration. This colorful event will feature a day full of fun for all ages.

The event will be held at the Grand Rapids Lions Club on August 25, 2012, from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. The FunFest will kick off with a pancake breakfast from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. followed by the Kolor for Kids FunFest Run/Walk at 10 a.m. Activities for children such as inflatables, a dunk tank, helium balloons and face painting will be open from noon to 5 p.m. The event will also feature live entertainment by:

  • Galynne Goodwill from 3-4 p.m.
  • The Kommissioners from 4:15-5:15 p.m.
  • The aTOMix from 5:45-7 p.m.
  • Surrender Dorothy from 7:30-9 p.m.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The 5K run/walk portion of the Kolor for Kids FunFest is a family oriented, noncompetitive event for adults and children of all ages and abilities. Participants start wearing white, and as they make their way through the course, volunteers throw powered color at them leaving participants covered in color by the end of the race.

“The Kolor for Kids FunFest is great for both participants and spectators,” Jackie Shea, public relations manager for Element Mobile, said. “The event designed to bring families together for a day of fun and to support a very worthy cause, the Children’s Miracle Network. Element Mobile is very excited to be able to help make this event possible.”

Participants can register for the race online at http://www.kolorforkids.com. The registration fee is $30 per person and $25 for each member of a team of four or more. After August 1, the price will be $35 for individuals and $30 for each member of a team of four or more. Registration includes a drawstring backpack filled with items including a white headband, temporary tattoo, sunglasses, water, and other goodies.

Volunteers and spectators are encouraged to wear white on the day of the event to join in the colorful fun. White t-shirts featuring the Kolor for Kids FunFest’s logo will be on sale for $10 at the event.
