ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions and The Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF) are Formally Announcing a Joint Initiative to Provide Free Credit and Housing Counseling, and Educational Workshops

ClearPoint Credit Counseling Solutions (CCCS) and The Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF) are formally announcing a joint initiative to promote financial education in the Hispanic community in Southern California. The agreement will be signed at MAOF’s Headquarters on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 9 am. MAOF is located at 401 N. Garfield Avenue, Montebello, CA 90640.

“We hope that the Hispanic community will benefit from the services offered by ClearPoint”, says MAOF President and CEO, Martin Castro.

“Thanks to our partnership with the Mexican American Opportunity Foundation (MAOF), ClearPoint will be able to expand the reach of our counseling and financial education to members of the Hispanic community in Southern California”, says ClearPoint’s Pacific Region President, Martha Lucey.

This partnership will broaden ClearPoint’s reach to the Hispanic community by providing financial education through First-Time Homebuyer and other educational workshops, as well as free credit and housing counseling. Workshop topics will include “homebuyer assistance”, “budgeting”, “surviving financial setbacks”, and “take it to the bank”.

To kick-off the partnership, the first educational workshop is scheduled for Thursday, August 16, 2012, at 5:30 pm. It will take place at MAOF at 401 N. Garfield Avenue, Montebello, CA 90640. The workshop topic will be “Budgeting.”

ClearPoint already provides credit counseling, housing and bankruptcy counseling services in Spanish as well, and a series of educational videos on its Spanish website.
The alliance with MAOF will help the Hispanic community in Southern California have access to accurate financial information. This will help consumers make the right decisions about how to manage their own resources in a more efficient way, and how to develop a plan for a better future.
