Beth McDonald named Chief Innovation Officer for Kinder's

P.K. Kinder’s, an award-winning producer of specialty ready-to-cook meats, prepared/smoked foods, barbecue sauces and marinades, announced the recent addition of Beth McDonald as the growing firm’s Chief Innovation Officer.

McDonald, the former managing partner and creative director of Oregon-based TakeAway Foods, has been partnering with Kinder’s during the past year in helping the regional food company prepare for its national launch of an extended line of raw marinated, heat-and-serve, as well as pre-sliced ready-to-serve protein and liquid retail products, under the Kinder’s brand. As Chief Innovation Officer, she will manage product research and development, brand and packaging development, as well as overall product quality. Under her Guidance, the company plans a wide range of new products that embrace the Kinder’s passion for fresh, innovative and great tasting foods at family-affordable price points.

“After working closely with Beth this past year, this was a logical next step for Kinder’s and for Beth. Her experience as both buyer and manufacturer provides us with the kind of deep industry background and skill set needed for our rapid growth,” said Joe Rainero, P. K. Beth’s career path includes more than 25 years of industry experience and leadership. From an early start in retail stores and field merchandising, she quickly moved through the ranks to Vice President of Service Deli and Food Service for market leaders Fred Meyer Stores and as a Director in Safeway Division offices. Her move into manufacturing and new product development began in 1996 as Vice President Business Development with G&G Specialty Foods & Harry’s Fresh Foods. Prior to the creation of TakeAway Foods to develop prepared foods for club and specialty supermarket channels, she served for Three years as Co-President and Chief Creative Officer for Really Cool Foods.

McDonald is a graduate of Iowa State University with a B.A. degree in Journalism & Speech. She resides with her family in Washington, but will split time between both company offices.
