Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) July 10, 2012
Solarsoft Business Systems, a leading provider of enterprise software and IT services to manufacturers worldwide, announced today that InterMetro (Metro) has selected Solarsoft’s real-time production monitoring and manufacturing execution system for its injection molding facilities in Acuña and Cuauhtémoc, Mexico.
A leading manufacturer of technology, storage and transport solutions in healthcare, food service, commercial and consumer products, Metro has used Solarsoft’s Mattec MES for 20 years. Metro will utilize and transfer its Mattec MES best practices to its facilities in Mexico.
“We use Mattec extensively as a continuous improvement tool,” says Tim Romantic, Director of Operations at Metro Fostoria. “The performance rate, quality rate and machine availability data from the Mattec system drives our Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvement plans for our injection, blow, pultrusion and rotational molding processes.”
“Since the implementation of Mattec and our improvement initiatives, we’ve steadily improved our OEE in injection molding,” says Romantic.
In addition to production monitoring, Metro uses Mattec MES for mold and equipment preventative maintenance planning, production scheduling, and automated downtime alerting.
“We’ve benefitted greatly from the automated alerts, which call for supervisors, techs or utilities as necessary,” says Romantic. “If a machine goes down for an unknown issue, the alerting feature from the Mattec system helps us respond quickly to avoid excessive downtime.”
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with InterMetro,” says Paul Ellis, VP of Sales at Solarsoft. “We’re confident that our Mattec MES manufacturing execution system will help enhance their operations across all of their locations.”
