Who’s Eligible?
Under this solicitation, eligible applicants are volunteer and combination fire departments; career fire departments are eligible for the hiring of firefighters only. Local and statewide organizations that represent the interests of volunteer firefighters are eligible to apply for recruitment and retention activities only. Municipalities and fire districts may apply on behalf of fire departments lacking the legal status to do so.
