After spending 15 years being controlled by food, Amy Iverson Adams has created “A Bellyful of Bliss Workshop,” to share her discoveries, insights and journey to help empower people with 6 steps that have freed her from emotional and compulsive overeating. The workshop will take place Sunday July 22nd 3-5pm at Reed Park Community Room located at 7th Street and Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica, CA and is no cost to attendees.
In her workshops and soon to be published book, A Bellyful of Bliss, she teaches the six steps to freedom from compulsive overeating: forgiveness, surrender, release of self judgment, identifying the beliefs that are burying your bliss, the power of possibility, and creating the life you crave, one belief at a time. “What you are craving is a lot yummier than food! In the moment of wanting to overeat, you can either open your mouth or your mind. You have a choice,” declares Adams.
Adams, a 37 year old married mother of two young children and a ex-compulsive overeater and bulimic, she was a slave to negative and obsessive thoughts about food and her body. Years of trying various methods to reduce her cravings and mental obsession left her feeling hopeless, defeated and exhausted. Things began to change for her once she began to look inwards, realizing that the comfort she sought from food existed inside of her all along. She learned to dissolve her desire to overeat, locate the source of her discomfort, and tap into feelings of inspiration, passion, and power. Adams has been free for over 6 years.
