Result follows “strong positive” rating – highest rating possible in a 2011 evaluation of Project & Portfolio Management Applications

Instantis, the leading provider of Enterprise Project and Portfolio Management (EPPM) software used by IT and business process leaders to improve strategy execution and financial performance through more effective people and work management, announced today it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Leader quadrant of its new “Magic Quadrant for Cloud-Based Project and Portfolio Management Services” report for 2012.

According to the report, “In an uncertain business and economic environment, PPM leaders are focusing heavily on improving speed, accuracy and agility, while managing risks and costs. PPM leaders are looking for solutions to support these seemingly conflicting objectives. Although there is a mature category of traditional PPM tools that will support these objectives, a classic “innovator’s dilemma” appears afoot as disruptive technologies – cloud and software as a service (SaaS) – evolve and converge.”

Recently introduced EnterpriseTrack® 8, the subject of Gartner’s product evaluation, continues the Instantis track record of disruptive innovation. EnterpriseTrack 8 features Instantis EnterpriseStream™ for seamless communication, collaboration and social networking among users of the EnterpriseTrack system. EnterpriseStream is purpose-built for project and portfolio management environments and fully integrated with the EnterpriseTrack system. Further, there is virtually zero effort to set it up, start collaborating, and realize immediate productivity results.

This innovative approach contrasts sharply with competitive alternatives that depend on third-party general-purpose collaboration platforms such as Jive and Yammer. According to the report, “at the moment, partnerships with third-party collaboration platforms and the resulting PPM-to-social networking integrations do not feel much different from leaving a PPM application and going into an email system to discuss a project with team members or other constituents.”

“Instantis is a cloud-based enterprise computing pioneer and the market-leading EnterpriseTrack PPM system leverages our patented Cloud/SaaS technology,” said Dr. Prasad Raje, Instantis founder and CEO. “We believe our leadership position is a direct result of the combination of our cloud technology platform we call FlexSaaS™ and our Enterprise PPM application services including EnterpriseStream that support multiple project-intensive environments – such as IT PPM, new product development and business process improvement – in a single system.”

Instantis believes that this report reaffirms its market leadership position. Instantis achieved a rating of “Strong Positive” by Gartner, Inc. in their “MarketScope for Project and Portfolio Management Applications” published in June 2011. This is the highest possible rating. Subsequently, Info-Tech Research Group rated EnterpriseTrack as “Exemplary”, the highest designation awarded, in their “Vendor Landscape: Enterprise Project Portfolio Management” report.
