Since 2007, Furniture Fashion has published more than 5,000 posts on all things furniture-related. Taking feedback from readers and looking back at all the interior design and furnishing finds gathered over the past five years, the Furniture Fashion team today released a list of the 30 most essential pieces of furniture its curators have run across in the team's daily search for objects and ideas worth sharing. The daily blog has 20,000 regular followers and publishes original content 365 days a year.

Although the site itself has only been in existence for half a decade, some of the designs that made the cut have been around for more than half a century. Ranging from high-end luxury pieces to everyday finds spanning the aesthetic spectrum from mid-century modern to ultra-contemporary, the list includes homages to the past that remain relevant today.

The Furniture Fashion co-founders maintain that "good design is good design, be it high-end or highly accessible; while some of the concepts in the list have been replicated time and time again by design enthusiasts hoping to further update or extemporize on a theme, the classics remain classics and are joined in this roundup by modern, inventive up-and-comers to round out the lot."

The list -- the first of its kind for the site, which normally publishes daily roundups of ten variations on the day's theme -- is divided into five categories: chairs, sofas, beds, shelving and accents. According to the Furniture Fashion team, each object featured is one of both style and substance that, while perhaps tied to a specific era of design, also transcends its origins into something greater and more enduring.
